This is an activated carbon block filter that offers the following benefits when compared with loose, granular carbon filters:

* Higher flow rate .
* No channeling (in granular filters, the water will tend to find the path of least resistance through the filter media — effectively reducing the amount of filtration that takes place)
* Fine filtration (nominal 1 micron)
* Cleaner

This is an ideal filter for reducing chlorine taste and odour and fine particulates from cold water systems
* This filter meets the EPDWA recommendations for a 1 micron nominal filter
